Requiem for a Moth

BBC Radio 4

In an amazing musical setting and as national Moth Night approaches, Martin Wainwright explores the British love affair...with the moth.

Sir Harrison Birtwistle is one of Britain's best-known composers, but since he was 13 he has also been one of its keenest collectors of moths. Presented by fellow lepidopterist Martin Wainwright, the programme follows Birtwistle's attempts to compose a requiem for every species of extinct moth.
