Pop artist Peter Blake (known to millions across the world for his record sleeve on the Beatles' Sergeant Pepper album) takes listeners on an imaginary journey, a Mystery Tour, that lasts a day. He meets up with great characters who have peopled his imagination, for example, he breakfasts with Buck Mulligan from Joyce’s Ulysses, chuckles at the White Knight (played by John Hurt), travels on a lonely train with Edward Hopper and ends up at one of The Great Gatsby’s extravagant evening parties.
