His and Hers Medicine

Dr Zoe Williams takes on one of medicine’s hottest topics: the gender gap. The medical profession has traditionally operated on the flawed assumption that men and women can be treated the same in diagnosis, in illness, in drug prescription and in medical research. – with fatal consequences for women.

The programme focuses on heart disease; the British Heart Foundation estimates that in the last decade more than 8,000 British women could have been saved had they received the same quality of care as men.
